Virginia Beach EMS is incorporating a number of physicians into our response matrix. This will allow more dynamic medical oversight but will also foster medical insight into how we can refine our best practice models.

In this category, you will find presentations by our EMS Duty Physicians. These courses will allow all of our prehospital providers to pick up some of the latest tips, trends and teachings.

Providers have all taken the 2020 Protocol Update course, but here is a further insight provided by MD02 Cliff Cutchins MD.
Dr. Amir Louka began his medical career as an EMT with Princess Anne Courthouse VRS in 2009 and received his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine (EM) and a sub-specialty EMS fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in 2018.
